    dell xps 15 mic busted kind of. What can i do?

    MY mic is usable sometimes i have to position my lcd to get it working sometimes or punch my webcam. I dont know why but it randomly started messing up does anyone know where the cables connect to on the motherboard i want to check if its loose or something.

    If it was mine and still under warranty, I'd chat Dell, jump thru the hoops, and get them to dispatch a part and a tech to install it. Kinda tedious going thru all the diagnostic procedures you've already tried, but they will almost certainly make it right in the end. Just be polite but firm with them.

    Maybe don't punch the webcam? Also I see you sig says on the way regarding the XPS 15, so I'm going to assume you recently got it? If so just get dell to replace the mic.

    Itook the thing apart and it turns out (i think) A grounding washer connecting the lcd panel ,wasn't connected so I screwed it in and now its works great!!
