Well, you just read the title. I ll try to explain the situation in which they occurred.

    BSOD # 1:

An external hard drive was being scanned, cam was on plus a song was being played in the background, the moment I lifted the laptop for showing something to my dad the blue screen appeared and then it disappeared in like 4 seconds. I saved the Windows generated report and I am attaching it here so that you can relate the error codes to what the actual problem may be.

    BSOD # 2:

I restarted my laptop for windows' updates to be installed and as usual it gave me a message to NOT TO TURN OF THE COMPUTER WHILE THE UPDATES ARE BEING INSTALLED but what did I was, I pulled out the USB adapter that I use for internet. Its exact name was Beceem Device's Enumerator. The moment I pulled it out the blue screen came again! and it dint just disappear rather I had to MANUALLY turn it off. Sadly, this time the windows dint create any information file about the problem.

THE common thing that I have noticed in these two events is the involvement of USB/ESATA port. I could have also disrupted the USB connection when I lifted my laptop in the first event, I am saying that because this Western Digital HD of mine has become very sensitive over the years to the slightest moments and obviously in the second event I manually pulled it out while the updates were being installed.

I have read it on a forum that for Vista and Win7 BSODs are not much of an issue as they are common and a safety for your machine to stop it when some driver malfunctions.

    NEED YOUR INPUT! PLEASE!

Here is the report of first BSOD.

Just a quick question, is your computer functional, or does it get these BSODs every time you try to boot? The way I'm understanding your issues, these BSODs occured, but your laptop is still functional, is that correct?

Install a program called Whocrashed. It reads your dump files and tells you which file causes the bluescreen. I had BSOD too and it was caused by afd.sys.

Probably want to update your chipset drivers.

Worst comes to worst, reimage your machine if it's that brand new.

yes yes its fully functional. Though never had the blue screen again after I updated the bios n drivers. Lets see how it goes this time. i have also done some light gaming but no problems at all. I guess it was just because of the USB pulling out thing..
And by the way what are the precautionary measures or things that I can do to make sure that it never happens again or you know, something that can help me determine why it happened? like 'whocrashed'.
Do I need to go n see my warranty guy or something? Plus I can feel some vibration when I put my hand on trackpad especially when ac power is connected and fan is on? Whats that all about?

I just received my Dell xps 15 (L1501x) on Saturday and it worked fine up until yesterday and today when i have gotten two bluescreens. i was shocked because they both can out of nowhere. no hardware removal or really anything, just boom bluescreen! however in both events there was something out of the ordinary. the first time firefox beta crashed, then explorer crashed. a minute later after logging out it bluescreened. the second time was really strange because the only thing that looked funny was when a download from sun failed (again in firefox).

however, after looking through my event viewer logs i found a ton of errors leading up to the both events over the course of 20 minutes. both times it started with bonjour service reporting a bunch of different errors that dont appear anywhere else in the logs so i have uninstalled it in hopes of fixing the problem.

I am currious to know if updating the cipset drivers has worked for you or are you still getting the bluescreens. i would like to stay away from that level until this problem becomes worse

Has anyone been able to get their Dell XPS 15 to work normally without any crashing? I ask because I am now on my 3rd (yes, 3rd) XPS 15 laptop from Dell. They've had to send me two replacements because they keep failing. Each one has had the same nagging blue screen issue. And it happens multiple times, even when the computer is just sitting idle. This is incredibly frustrating, and it seems as though there is some type of engineering defect with this particular model.

This doesn't sound right to me. Is this straight out of the box or after software has been installed? Whats the error code on the bluescreen?

Do you install a firewall like ZoneAlarm? I had the same issues untill I installed this hotfix here:
Stop error message when you run an application that transfers data by using the UDP protocol in Windows Server 2008 R2 or in Windows 7: "STOP 0x0000007F"

Click on get this hotfix in top left. It is something to do with an issue with firewalls on Win 7 x64, for me this fixed all my BSOD's, haven't had one in a couple of weeks.

I still get audio stuttering, and when this happens I can see a load of errors in event viewer, there's so many I can't start to figure out the cause of each of them, well I couldn't be bothered!
