On my xps, the volume controls on the keyboard used to work well. I would just have to hold the button and it would increase or decrease. Now, when i hold the button they dont increase. I have to click volume and do it manually. How can i get it back to where i can just hold the controls?

Do you have Quickset installed? Did the Quickset exe become disabled by chance? Perhaps reinstalling Quickset will correct it.

i have a xps m1530 and i noticed the same thing. its not quickstart its just the touch pad panel sucks and you have to keep pressing it alot. if you have to do it manually then most likely your touch pad is bad. dell will replace it.

Does anybody know of an application that works that will let you change the volume using just keyboard keys (says windows key + up/down) rather than using the funny mulitimedia buttons?
I tried googling and downloaded HotKeyz but that was no good
dell xps 1530 volume
