It looks like an attempt to clone a hipster computer.
...but I still like it... -
I just received mine, while there some problem with it. I still think it the best Laptop on the market right now beside the Mac Book Pro but that's not a PC lol.
Just a couple thing I didn't like about it.
1.) I don't like the color scheme going on. The interior is dark grey instead of light grey. I would prefer it all grey to match everything.
2.) Do not like the color of the keyboard, they make it silver and transparent light make it hard to see the letters. Backlit look bad, only look good in dark lighting.
3.) The silver plastic trim on the outside is crap. It look like it gonna fall out of place any moment.
4.) A few un-even backlit keys. Think mine could be defected
5.) It say lightweight, but I feel it a bit heavy for a light and thin Laptop.
6.) The Laptop get hot really quickly.
7.) And the last thing is that the Glossy Display. Hated it! Would have got Matte if they have the option. It show reflection in direct sunlight and not well lit place. -

Though I don't own one personally, I have used one and the keyboard is rubbish and the GPU kinda sucks. But other than that, it's a decent laptop.

The thing is that it looks like Dell was trying hard to copy the Macbook Pro...but tried to put their own spin on it so it wouldn't be the Macbook Pro. It has all of the Macbook Pro's drawbacks...and some of its own. If it wasn't for its price point it would be dead in the water, so it's a decent laptop. Still looks good but has some fragile points where glue was used. It's not made from one aluminum block like the Macbook is. I like it, specs are good enough to play most modern games at 1080p on highest settings.

Here's why I returned mine.
It came with a defective panel.
The trim was not flush and was scraping my wrists. Also, it felt extremely cheap.
After a week the glue was starting to ooze out from behind the rubber on the bezel.
I can get much better specs elsewhere in a 1k laptop. I don't mind paying a premium for design, but when the build quality is as bad as it was on my unit, I can't feel comfortable with the purchase. -

Unfortunately, I don't have any pics, I probably should have taken some before I sent it back.
I bought it brand new.
Another thing, the multitouch on the touchpad was beyond useless, to the point where I disabled it because I was tired of pages mysteriously zooming and the two finger scroll rarely worked on the first try anyway.
It's a shame, because I've been a Dell customer for years, and I've been buying their laptops since the original XPS, which I loved. -
Trying to love the XPS 15z, but here are some major problems.
1. Text on XPS 15z 1080P screen is fuzzier than my Dell 1555 1080P screen. Tried adjusting Cleartype but it did not help. Default Cleartype settings on Dell 1555 screen are perfect, crisp, and sharp. If you don't have 2 screens side by side, then you will probably not notice. But once you have seen better and than downgrade to a screen like XPS 15z, you will definitely notice.
2. Black text is not as dark or black on the XPS 15z as my Dell 1555 1080P screen. More grayish. Looks like grayscale black text. Again you need to compare 2 screens at the same time.
3. Keyboard sucks. If you type a lot, ie reports and articles, this keyboard is not for you. Very uncomfortable and inaccurate. You can learn to get used to it, but its still not as easy to type on as older type keyboards.
4. Random cursor jumps during typing. Probably due to palms resting on trackpad while typing. Never had this problem on my older Dell 1555 keyboard.
