I got a brand new dell xps studio 1467 and everything works perfect except one thing. I can't turn the wifi on. I read the manual and it said to tap the button on top of the key board that looks like an antenna but when I do the wifi light doesn't turn on. It says its still disabled. I think I might be missing the wireless drive or a setting is wrong because all it says it plug in ethernet cord but nothing about wifi. I can't figure out how to turn it on or anything. It came with a disk of drivers that said are already installed on computer, a windows 7 cd but I tried reinstalling windows and nothing.

Try this, when pressing the button whichever it is, hold down the Fn key first. Fn is the Function key, it is generally located next to the Ctrl key on your keyboard. (This could vary so look for it) Hold down Fn and then press the button that toggles the WiFi antenna, should do the trick. Do keep me in the loop. Hope this information helps.

Did you enable the WLAN card in the BIOS? Sometimes it ships disabled (why I don't know). Does it show up in Device Manager?

Did they perhaps not install the wifi card? When you remove the bottom cover, do you see the card installed?

I took it to best buy geek squad today and he said I need to download the driver. My question is what exactly do I need to download? I went to dell.com went under my computer and I see a thousand things to download and it makes me wonder what other drivers need download

What? If the device doesn't show up in device manager no driver is going to fix that..

support.dell.com and punch in your service tag will get you drivers for your model.

Network Controller is your WLAN card.

support.dell.com and punch in your service tag and find your WLAN card driver.
