    hey guys-

so i recently got a replacement for the xps 15 (the previous one had fan issues)

anyway, the production of the new one took only about 2~3 days, which at first was amazing, but got a bit suspicious to be honest..

then when receiving the unit, i realized the DPI has already been zoomed to Medium level, and the Windows Experience Index was already tested with scores. The previous XPS 15 when first received, had no scores for that, and the default DPI was at Normal.

Dell shouldn't have sent a used one as a replacement, right?

Mine came with 125% DPI (medium) as well. Also the WEI is a bit weird, sometimes when I do a clean install the rating is already there, other times I'd have to do it manually. Take it for what you will.

Usually if it's used/refurb, if you look underneath your lappy there will be a Red sticker designating "refurbished". : )

The 1st xps I ordered was in production stage for only a day. You shouldn't worry about this.
As for the DPI, I read somewhere that the default on the xps 15 with 1080p is 125%

The DPI is set above 100% for "high resolution" screens by default on Windows Vista and 7...

When you powered on the laptop and setup your information if the machine was plugged into the AC socket the WEI scores would have updated at that time.

Legally Dell is required to put a refurbished sticker on the product if it is used in any way, even if it was a "Previously ordered as new...." that never left the factory. Every Dell/Alienware product I've ever had has it on the bottom near the service tag ;) if it's not there it's new.
