just wondering, cuz i get a 90W gigantic ac power adapter brick, it doesn't fit my m1330 since it have a circular end, complained dell and they sent me a 65W small and pretty ac power adapter but when i boot i get this warning:
WARNING: A 65W AC power adapter has been detected. which is less than the recommended 90W adapter originally shipped.
This will increase the time to charge the battery.....
The System willadjust the performance to match....
m1330 owners, did you get a giant adapter with a green led or the small one with the blue led, also, is your ac 90 or 65W
thanks!

I have a 1530 but I got a 65watt one and got the same message when I booted up. I haven't complained yet, but was wondering if anyone else had the same message.

im planning to keep the 65w adapter, the 90W is just too big (not to mention bugly haha xD)
-
I have the 65 watt for the M1330 and get no such message. However, the battery does charge quite slowly.

The circular 90W PSU will fit the octagonal female power receptacle.
Most of us got the smaller 65W (blue LED). Both the larger 65W and 90 W will work.
However, I find that my larger 65W(latitude brick) PSU give a bit of small electrical shocks when I touch the metal part.

BTW the 90W does fit but seat a little loose, the small 65W fits perfect, would you recommend keeping the 65 or 90W -
Interesting. My modest Vostro 1500 came with a 90W.

90W chargers will charge up your lappy faster especially if you have the large 9 cell. (sorry can't tell you how much faster, as I don't usually fully discharge them to test the 65W vs 90W)
But its quite a lot heavier if you plan to lug it around with your lappy.
Depends where your priorities are. Both will work. I do prefer the older cable wrap design of the latitude brick...its neater and easier to wrap up.. -
The current Dell 90W PA is about 2/3 the size and 1/2 the weight of the 130W brick that came with my i5150.

i have the 6 cell battery, i dont care that much in the time it takes to charge battery i just dont want to damage my computer

The warning seems to appear when you are using the newest processors (Penryn). I had a M1330 with a T7100 and never got the warning, but after getting a M1330 with a T9300 I started getting the warning.
-
-
I have the T9300 processor and get no such error message with the 65W adapter.
-
I have the T9500 (penryn) and my system was shipped with the 65w adaqpter. I don't get any such warning either. Did you by any chance flash your BIOS to the most recent version because I think there may have been a BIOS fix for this. Not sure though.
-
I'd say keep both. Keep the 65W in your laptop bag, and use the 90W when you come home.
-
Mine came with the 65W adapter but i have a 90W one from my insprion and it charges the battery alot faster, takes ages to charge my 9 cell from the 65W one, to charge it quicker i usually put the laptop on powersaver helps speed the charging up a bit
did you get a 65W AC power adapter w/ your XPS M1330 ?
