No it's not normal for users to experience freezing during gameplay. Usually caused by bad drivers, a bad overclock or a bad chip.
-
but they are so many ppl and they said they updated everything from the bios to the gpu drivers and still have the crashes after 15 mins or 2 hours max !

Throttling due to heat/power can also cause game instability.
-
but i found many ppl meantioned that the air condition is on in there room and using cooling pad for laptop and still have same problems
and others monitored the heatings of the cpu/gpu and didnt find anything wrong with it
so i have to expect a freez every 2 hours max of gameplaying ? -

I've played Crysis2 for over two hours straight and close to that with Bioshock2 and never had any problems at all. I haven't looked at your links but I'd suspect either bad hardware/software or "user error". Definitely not normal.

Yeah, played games daily on my machine with my wife and for hours on end. Never had an issue. Just a FYI, both our machines had OS reinstalls to get rid of bad drivers etc.

The only time mine crashes in-game is when I'm trying to overclock my gpu. Apparently I wasn't lucky enough to get a chip that tolerates an overclock well. However, running it at stock clocks on a cooling pad after repasting allows for me to run whatever I want for as long as I want to.
Edit: Of course, after saying that, I went and installed Fallout 3 and was subjected to a crazy crash-fest. Turns out that particular title doesn't know how to handle a quad-core processor. Luckily, a little bit of googling found the fix for it. -
If you're concerned about gaming this is really not the best laptop for it. Not because it's badly built or anything, but the graphics card isn't very powerful. I'd look into Alienware or some Asus laptops
The best thing about the XPS is the 1080p screen. I just can't live without 1080p, because at any given time I have several windows open onscreen. I also like to use Photoshop with my small Wacom, and this thing has brilliant color. -
I had a steam game, Portal 2, crashing on my xps 15. Everytime I would hit a key it would crash. It turned out to be a steam problem, not a laptop problem.
It was a corrupted steam cache. Once I implemented the fix, everything worked fine.
