well i know it has sli but i was wondering if it switches between integrated and dedicated gpus. cuz in the review they guy said he got 4 hours with integrated graphics.

If you have a dedicated graphics card, you don't have integrated. They are two completely different chipsets.
-
but some have switchable like the t400
-
What Mastershroom said is not true. The 1340 has both integrated (GeForce 9400) and dedicated (Geforce 9200) graphics. You can use just the integrated to save power, or both together on Hybrid Sli for better performance (which appears as a 9500 card). So it's integrated or integrated+dedicated. You can also buy it with only the integrated graphics.

I never understood that... is the 9400 considered an integrated card or a discrete card? I always thought integrated chips were Intel chips, or is nVidia now integrating their video cards into motherboards now?
-
I was thinking of the XPS M1330, not the SXPS 1340. Damn their similar series names and model numbers. >_< -
Meh don't worry, I make mistakes too. xScorp1on, the 9400 is integrated on the motherboard, it's an actual integrated card: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9400m_g_us.html .

Yep, the laptop is based on an nvidia motherboard (as opposed to an intel one) so alot of the drivers are nvidia based. If you open up the laptop with just the integrated graphics you should only have 2 heatsinks, 1 for the northbridge (graphics integrated here), and 1 for the CPU.. If you have the dedicated 9200 then you should have 3 heatsinks (1 more the the dedicated 9200).

im so confused i bought the 9400m g so i dont have discrete graphics?
-
it may not be to late to cancel your order and choose the upgraded GPU i think its a cheap upgrade also.
does sxps 1340 have switchable graphics?
