hey guys, i dropped my xps, chassis is broken, like the plastic between the sd and pcimcia card slot...

from what i can see only the headphone jack has a bum, teh screen a crack, the sd card slot's plastic is broken.
apart from that all seems to work fine, wil complete care still cover?

i mean, in their contract they say they wont replace things that dont affect the computers functions. but i do wanna get it replace, even though damage seems small.

another question, could my hdd have been damaged, computer was off.

also i had 3-5 replacements already, one being them giving me an ES cpu (engineering sample) which apparently is illegal?

coudl i use that as a pressure point to make them replace the side patrt of my laptop's chassis?

If you have Complete Care, they should take care of basically any accidental damage, definitely including cracked plastics.

yea i would just give dell a call asap and get it resolved. just make sure you have the complete care warranty. if not its gonna cost you an arm and a leg.

i do have complete care, but in the contract it says, scratches and stuff that does not make the laptop inoperable is not included?
only issue is that for complete care they wanna collect the laptop and return it within a week... instead of replacing on site...

Alot of times they will say cosmetic damages are not covered. Do you have a picture of the damage?

thanks for uploading the pics. all of that looks just to be cosmetic. i've never dealt with dell complete care services, but looks like they'd need to take your laptop so you'd have some down time. see if they'll lend you a loaner in the mean time!

well the display was our i pushed it back in and it flickered randomly twice already....

apart from that tests were fine and its just the chassis, plus display. id prefer them sending a technician.

i say put the call in to dell and see where it gets you. you bought complete care for a reason and this is one of those times that it applies. dont take no for an answer and stick to your guns. good luck!
