Dell release the A09 Bios to combat heat, now if Dell XPS support is right and not just pulling my leg its causing problems.

As You may have seen in my other topic, I have had issues with my laptop powering down on its own, no errors or anything. After my 4th chat with tech support they say they want to downgrade my bios to A08. When I ask why they say the newer Bios has been causing issues so they have been downgrading where necassary to correct the issues and there R&D team is working on a permanant fix. Ive attached a SS of that part of the conversation. Anyone else had this experience?

Interesting that they would make you downgrade. I am sure it would just be a temporary fix until they are able to develop a new version.

Does it power down when you close the lid? Mine did that and I fixed it by disabling an option under device manager for the wireless card (it had to do with the computer shutting down the wireless card to save power).

No it just randomly powers down when playing games. I really dont feel like its a GPU problem because it isnt giving me a wierd display or graphic anomalies or anything of that sort. Im beginning to wonder if its a power supply issue. Maybe the overuse of the fans from the new bios caused permanent damage? Now anytime its pushing too much juice it just shuts down.

Can i just request Dell to replace it or am I going to have to continue to to succumb to there pointless troubleshooting?

Just because some underpaid tech tells you to do something does not make it right.
They are sometimes dumber than you... the one calling them for help.

These people are usually in another country being outsourced and paid less than 10 dollars a day USA.

As well, mistakes are made with the highly experimental XPS line.
So, expect accidents and irregularities to happen.
