Try pulling it out with your nails/a pair of tweezers.. It doesn't lock inside, just slides in...

Nope.. probably the spring has stuck or fallen off.. Have the express card cage replaced.. Easiest option..

You can also try putting the blank in, and then puhing it further in to see if the spring unlocks...

I recently had my express card slot lose its "springy-ness". I have yet to disassemble the laptop to take a look at it but how would one go about repairing this? I use the remote quite a bit and the storage is something I find useful. Using a paperclip to get it out is hardly practical.

I would prefer not to have to send it to Dell to get it fixed. any suggestions would be appreciated

The ExpressCard or the SD slot?

Either way if you are under warranty, you should be able to have a tech sent to your house to replace the part.

    Hi Arcy,

a temporary solution would be to use a clear tape and tape it on the end of the remote and use it as a puller.

i did that trick ones on one of my older cellphone which had a batt that was hard in the a$$ to remove.

its not nice to look at but it works :) a small amount of tape protruding will do.
