    fan and hard drive noise on xps 1530

    the fan is always on, temp at 50c, and the hard drive is constantly making that busy sound. is this normal?

    Did you just get your notebook? If you did, it takes Vista a while to set up Indexing, so it's constantly storing data the first few days after your first bootup. 50 degrees C seems normal to me for a notebook, but it should probably work less hard after a week or so.
