Yes, it is compatible, and you can order the 5100 with the SXPS13 if you call. The 5300 will work also.

please do, this is the only thing that is stopping me from buying a SXPS 13, everyone who has any kind of experience with installing intel WIFI cards in their SXPS 13 then please share....i just assumed that after reading a couple comments that its not compatible..hopefully its just a 1 out of a 1000 person problem instead of a COMMON prob with everyone...poison7FL you just opened up new doorways for me :)

I have the same result with kirkus. Can someone try the intel wifi 5100? I think 5100 and 5300 will have the same problem since they use the same driver. However i don't want this dell 1515. Some other recommendations for other type of nice wifi cards that does not have the compatibility issues?

Hamming, is your 5300 a genuine one? First that i've tried was something like ES. I have another one (genuine) but I don't know if I should bother installing it.

Would love to see someone get a 5300 in here. I felt like an idiot yesterday at Starbucks when my buddy's macbook had a solid wifi connection and I was dropping the signal every 30 seconds.

The laptop uses an nVidia chipset, it therefore cannot be called a "Centrino 2" platform and therefore would not have a Centrino 2 sticker. I assure you the sticker is a Core 2 Duo one.
