    Hi

I did the GONZO clean install back at the beginning of the year nd have been very happy with it.

But recently my computer has been BSODing almost every time I use the computer for extended amounts of time.

It will always do it between 1-3 hours after turning the computer on, and has done it with the wifi on or off.

I still have bios version 1.1.19 and have not updated any drivers since I did the fresh install. I have 9550 4k panal with 500 SSD

what should I strat with to see if it is that? cheers

BSODs are a pain to diagnose, because there could be so many factors.

Id first start with downloading and running MemTest86+. It will check for errors in RAM. You'll need to create bootable media (USB flash drive) so the program can boot into a DOS environment to run its testing.

If that passes, then reinstall Windows from scratch... Don't use someone else's pre-packaged Windows install. As convenient as that may be, you want to do a manual windows install from scratch to isolate if any drivers are the problem. Install the drivers one or two at a time, and then reboot. Repeat until all drivers are installed.

Dell now suggest installing the Samsung NVMe driver if you have the Samsung drive.

Have you installed WhoCrashed and checked if you have valid crash dumps?

Does the laptop reboot to a missing drive forcing a hard reset?

No longer have BSOD after BIOS update to 1.2.24. You should try it first.

Correct, quite a lot of posts in this forum about it as well, you should take some time to get up to speed with the popular 9550 threads to save you asking questions already answered :)

It saves new threads about the same thing.

Thanks guys I will give the samsung and bios a try first see if that helps. I want to leave doing a fresh install to a last resort really.

Gonzo, I think it does boot to a missing drive as it trys to reset then but stays at 0% then hard resets.

That's the bug Dell tries to deny happens with Samsung. Give the BIOS and driver a go

Done, I have now left my computer on for hours and not one BSOD!!

It also runs alot smoother with less hanging and lag.
