paper_wastage Beat this 7x7x7 Cube
did you check whether your set the CPU to Performance mode (instead of power saver in the power options)
-
yeh it was in high performance mode and im sure somewhere in the vlc settings i checked that it had something about enabling the gpu to help decode video checked
i might download some 1080p samples from microsoft later to see what its all about, but was half expecting it to just work lol .... ohwell maybe not -
What is the problem exactly? I'm having trouble with some artifacting and freezing when trying to play a 1080p mkv file. It loads up fine but periodically the colors will warp and sometimes the playback will freeze.

Thanks to TimeWriter for this one. Not sure if this will help, but check this out - works for me.

Use Media Player Classic Home Cinema - it supports GPU acceleration. I have a Nvidia card, so I just tick the DXVA internal filter and that takes care of it. Not sure about Ati cards though.

try downloading and installing CoreAVC Codec

I'd use Shark 007 VistaCodecPack. Works perfect for me!
