    graphics card not recogised

    hi i have a dell xps m1730 running windows 7 ultimate 64 i booted it up today and the graphics cards been lost from device manager i changed the motherboard thinking it was that i also tested the card in another xps my mates and it recognisesit in his windows 7 but not mine any suggestions itwont let me put the current drivers as it comes up with nvidia graphics card not detected in this machine ive took it back out and pushed it down firmly and still not working

    Bios update may solve this, have it a try ?

    please stop poking your laptop. If anything you've damaged it more! It's not a hardware issue, it's most likely a software issue, have you tried re-installing windows 7 from scratch and letting it re-detect the drivers?

    You said you plugged in your friend's HDD to your laptop and it recognized the drivers, so that's usually a software related fault.

    i havent damaged anythin and its all working now just needed a bios update whitch worked
