i just bought a Dell XPS L502X two days ago and last night i noticed that the hard drive activity light and battery charging lights on the back of the screen do not work at all .. is this a hardware problem? should i go and exchange my laptop, coz they gave me a 7 day exchange warranty in case of any HARDWARE problem ..??

Yes, it looks like you got a hardware problem, since there is no such a drivers or software to get those lights working.

The lights hidden behind the lid ??
Remember that both battery indicators will go out when battery is around 97% or higher. Battery charging will disable after 15 mins or so of reaching 100%

There is only one hard drive light that you can't see with the lid up... Dumb design if you ask me.

Indeed about the dumb design. Same as speaker placement in l702x.
