    I have a dell studio laptop with hdmi out that works well with my hdtv but only have one hdmi input on my tv and is being used by something my question is if I get an adaptor that has hdmi to compontent output will it work

    You could get a HDMI switch for your TV. If they even make HDMI to component adapters, I'm sure they're expensive and only unprotected video will be displayed.

    i have an adaptor that has hdmi on one end and componet on the other but is not finding my tv but i heard that had to video card with tv out capability i figured if my hdmi hooked to my tv works than it must have that capability.
