I just noticed that I can actually hear the HD on my M1530 spinning. It is loud enough that I can hear it without putting my ears against it. Should I call in Dell for a replacement or is there another way of fixing this?

If I`m in a totally quiet room, I also hear the hdd working.
No big deal, I`m not that picky.
I only hate fan noises :D

Try having servers next to you. Ever hear a Dell SC server fire up? Sounds like a damn jet.

Not sure, but the sound is really annoying. It is basically a whining/squeaky sound especially with the included HD clicking noise
