I'm looking for a 13" light-weight laptop to put into my messenger bag and move around.
I went to the store today and held the dell m1330, it felt really cheap, i mean the chassis is just like cheap silver plastic, specially in the palm rest area. What do you guys think of that?? The price was kinda reasonable ( i think...), around to the equivalent of $1250.
Specs: C2D 2.0ghz, 2 gb ram, 160gb hdd, geforce 128mb
Also, I don't game, so the geforce is useless and would use up battery...and no I cannot customize to integrated because they're here in stores like that (non-NA).

maybe the Sony SR with the integrated graphics??

If you're in the US, you can get much better specs for the price.
The m1330s I've had felt very solid to me. The store models I've seen haven't impressed me, probably because I am partial to the LED LCDs. If you don't like the metal on the palm rest, then explore other models. Maybe the Latitude E4300 would be more to your liking? -

Isn't the m1330's palm rest made of brushed aluminum? O_O

it is brush aluminium
college student any chance? -
I have a 1530, not impressed with build quality, fit, finish...its ok. Not nearly as nice as some ive seen.
The design details of the 1530 are just not crisp...for instance the palm rest is aluminum, where it meets the space by the button tray, it turns to colored plastic, the joint is sloppy and the transition in material is not designed well aesthetically speaking. In the same area, the black plastic button tray ends abruptly again from black to silver, not smooth. The joints along the screen and screen surrounding are too visible and have too much flex. My bro has a Sony that is just so solid, not sure how to compare specs, but the sony just feels and looks solid. Of course, there is more to looks, specs are king.
Ive changed out my silver keyboard to black, and it helps a lot. Much crisper looking and the keyboard actually feels/works better. -

well, if you could buy online in USA (and suffer the 3-4 weeks delay...)
good deals for college students
basic M1330 (no LED, no graphics, low-end C2Duo, 2GB, 160GB, dell-wireless g, 1 yr warranty
$820+, not bad for a 4 lb laptop with low specs... (well, u can get the same specs on a HP laptop for $400-$600, but that'll be like 5-6 pounds)
or the deal in my signature for roughly ur budget, but much better specs, $1205 b4 tax
hesitant about the m1330
