when i woke up this morning one half of my screen was white and the other side was pretty dark. So I decided to turn the computer off and kept it off for 30 mins. When I started it back up the backlight seemed fine but it still looks kind of dim on the left side. How do I make sure/ or test that my backlight is working fine?![]()

The ccfl light is dying on your screen.

is this replacable?

How comfortable are you taking apart both the laptop and LCD?

Im fairly familiar with the laptop since the current lcd I replaced myself around 5 months ago.

how many ccfl lamps do I need?
-
Only 5 months old and it died?
Based on what you described it sounds like 2 but I always though 2cffl was reserved for larger screens. -
I did a quick google and found this..

Replacing the screen is a bit difficult. If your not comfortable with it, get it repaired by dell.
