I am thinking of upgrading my 256gb SSD in my XPS15 skylake into the 1tb SSD above. I have the bigger battery in my XPS15. I am assuming the intel SSD will work ok in my XPS15?
Just posting here in case there is something I have overlooked before I go and spend the money on the SSD.

Yes, an Intel 600p will be a straight drop-in replacement for your current SSD. Dell uses M.2 NVMe SSDs for laptops configured with 256 gb, 512 gb, or 1tb capacities (and M.2 SATA for 128 gb configurations). You most likely have Samsung SM951 drive in there right now.
There are two things I wanted to mention:
1). The Intel 600p looks bad in benchmarks, for sequential writes after its cache fills up. But don't worry about that. It's a long explanation... But just know that unless you do professional video editing, you won't ever run into that problem.
2). You currently can't buy the 1TB capacity. It is expected to be released in Q4 2016. But when it does hit, that is THE drive to get. 1TB drive for $330 MSRP, with NVMe speeds. That is the hotness right there.

Note Samsung just announced they are releasing a bunch of new 960 PRO and EVO drives for October 2016 sale.
The Samsung 1TB 960EVO MSRP is $479 - more performance, endurance and cost than said Intel.
Besides price, just do a bit of research on endurance to make sure they meet your usage needs (think 200TB for the 960EVO vs. 72TB for the 600p).
The 960PRO has a 800TB Endurance spec, but MSRP is $629...
There are comprehensive reviews on anandtech.com and tomshardware.com, respectively. -
thanks for the info. I am assuming 72TB means you can only wirte 72TB in its lifetime. I read up somewhat below. So assuming a 3x write amplification, the 600p can write 24 Tb in its life time. That is 24 times full write. I don't think I will ever hit anywhere close to that. In fact 10tb is probably enough for my usage.
