Hi guys, i recently bought a Dell XPS m1530 and soon after i received it, i downgraded my OS to XP.

After searching through this website as well as dellcommunity website, or should i say, forums, i managed to get drivers for all the parts, no exclamtion marks shown in my device manager in XP running in my XPS m1530.

However, i noticed that the intel chipset driver is sensitive, whenever i install new driver, like wat i did earlier was installing microsoft high definition audio driver, my right headphone jack wasnt functioning. After i reinstall the audio driver, i manage to get both of the headphone jacks functioning properly.

Just now, 10 minutes ago b4 i wrote this thread, i was installing dell webcam driver, and hell, no sound at all, the laptop told me no audio device detected, i restarted and reinstalled the audio driver, and of course i get the sound driver back.

So my question would be easy

Can XP be running safely on windows XP? (wat i meant is wether driver installed in XP will cause the hardware to deteriorate and affecting it's hardware performance, would it affect the motherboard? like after sometime, the components on the motherboard will overheated and malfunction? and does this apply to other hardware as well?)

there is no point in worry.overheating is caused by overclocking not by driver installation.never try overclocking if u need more life out of ur laptop
