hi, i have the l502x with the 9cells baterry, my quiestion is if is really necesary remove the battery to play. i mean for hte high temps and all of that.
thanks

The heat comes from the system it self (CPU, GPU...)
I don't think it will effect the gaming performance. -
The 9-cell batteries usually greatly reduce heat of the system (of the GPU / CPU, etc.) by keeping the laptop off of the surface.
Why were you considering removing it? Are you worried about the battery getting hot? Heat is bad for batteries, but I'd recommend leaving it in. -
Regardless, the cooling system is excellent on this laptop vs. the previous XPS m1_30 and Studio XPS lines.
The heat in the XPS 15 is efficiently moved from the CPU, GPU, and chipset, which are located further away from the battery in the center of the laptop, out to the side. In the previous models, the CPU and GPU were located pretty close to the battery, the exhaust vent was fairly blocked by the LCD, and heat built up in the case when the system was under heavy load, which contributed to horrible long-term battery life in those models.
is really necessary to remove the battery to play? [xps l502x]
