I have an l702x, with i7 2630, gt555m, 1600x900 screen, and windows 7 64bit. The 275.33 drivers cause constant crashes after about a minute of booting, reinstalling the official dell drivers(268.30) does sort the issue.

Has any had the same experience, and knows which nvidia drivers are stable?

    cheers

I'm using 275.33 from the moment I bought this laptop, and no problems so far. Everything works as it should. Try to do the following..

    1. Uninstall all nvidia drivers in 'Control Panel' -> 'Programs and Features'
    2. Restart your laptop
    3. Use Driver Sweeper to completely wipe out all traces left by nvidia drivers and software.
    4. Restart your laptop once again
    5. Install 275.33 (or 268.30) drivers once again

This time it crashes at the welcome screen, the fan seems to become stuck on full as it heats up. Trying the beta drivers now then the last whql release, to see if they are stable.

I am booting fine into safe mode and the device manager indicates the drivers are installed correctly on the gt555m, but the nvidia HD audio devices are not showing up on the device manager.

edit: 275.50 worked fine(atleast through boot and for the last half an hour)

Hm, that's weird.. Have you tried making a clean windows install?

The latest Nvidia driver has an option for a clean install and I always recommend that, especially with video card drivers. My new ASUS G71GX with a 260M was stable with 275.33 running Windows 7 Professional.

I've been running the 275.33 drivers(using the clean install option always) since they were Whql released.I've had no problems with them at all.I'm running on a 3D L702x system. The only problem I have is the crashing on wake issue@120hz,which all the 3D systems have at the moment.
Oh also my 3D blu-ray movies are not playing in PowerDVD 9.6 since I installed. But I'm sure this can be fixed through some settings,I just didn't get around to doing it yet.

Does this option provide similar functionality of driver sweeper?

Sort of. If you select the bottom option, it will say do you wish to perform a clean install? If you continue, it will remove the driver, reboot your machine and reinstall the latest one and then reboot again.

Tried reinstalling windows, problem seemed fine for two days, till this morning, on launching a game(dawn of war retribution) as it ran through the starting vids, got BSOD for driver reset tried and failed. Then freezing started to occur again.

I booted up safe mode and installed the 275.33 drivers in clean mode(only upgrading currently present drivers), no help. Still freeze on welcome screen, got onto desktop long enough to launch firefox then freeze. Tried system restore to yesterday morning, error message given, but computer seems to have been restored to that date. No change.

Whenever the system crashes the fan does seem to be on full, like it does when the nvidia card is enabled, and 275.33 did seem to increase the frequency of the freezes, so maybe its a hardware fault with the card?

I'm going to ring up customer support this evening and hopefully get a technician to come out fix/replace laptop.

    cheer for the help

I'd be surprised if they came out. Dell's official drivers are on their website and will be the ones they work with if there is a service issue.
