does anyone know if the notebook comes ready for mobile broadband if one doesn't order the card itself? for m1210 you had to select media package (or whatever it was called and they pre-wired it with WWAN antenna and installed a SIM card slot in the battery compartment. There is no mention of this kind for m1330 which makes me wonder whether such preps can be ordered and I can pop in the WWAN card later?

Also does anyone has any idea what brand of HDD do they use for 200G / 7200 ?

express card slot got nothing to do with a prep for WWAN. WWAN express card has an antenna of its own and a slot for a SIM card. The question is whether it has a PCI express slot for WWAN internal card.

I don't think we're gonna know until people start getting their m1330's. I'm also curious about this... but it'll be awhile before we know for sure (and the manual tells us nothing).

Any comment on people's experiences with AT&T and the SIM card slot? Or any SIM GSM service for that matter?

Well one of my friends has a laptop that he uses an AT&T sim card, its not a Dell though, but the speeds of the internet are very fast, only disadvantage is that its costly.

My m1330 is equipped with the Dell Wireless 5520 HSDPA Mini Card for Cingular/ATTM

The Sim card fits in a slot under the battery. It works out of the box and shows up as modem to the vista OS.

I have seen speeds close to 1mb/sec surfing the web.

Works great, and currently ATTM has "unlimited" data for approx $60. They claim 5gb limit, but are not billing for excess, yet :)

1mb/sec you say? What city are you in, may I ask?

60$ a month sounds like a good deal really.

All of the machines come pre-wired for WWAN (2 antennas), WiFi (2 antennas on the LED displays, 3 on the CCFL) and wireless USB (1 antenna)
