Okay, so the m1330 has the core 2 duo which is 64-bit. Just now I saw that Dell has most, if not all of the drivers available for 64-bit as well. Now, back in the day of my current HP laptop, which was a Wednesday...albeit many months ago, I tried 64-bit XP only to find that HP sucks when it comes to driver support. So 64-bit was out of the question then. Since Dell supports this laptop for 64-bit, is there any reason NOT to reinstall Vista as 64-bit? I don't really have any external software that isn't 64-bit compatible. The main issues were always things like media buttons, memory card readers, etc. Anything relatively unique to the laptop itself.
The only thing I can think of is that I will not have a firewall or antivirus since they are kinda scarce on 64-bit. Not much of a loss since I stopped using them back in December anyway. All they ever caught were perfectly benign processes.
Now, I saw that you can order the 64-bit DVD with a shipping fee from Microsoft. Anyone know the fee? I can't see it until I give them a serial key, which I don't have yet.
I know that there pretty much is no use for 64-bit right now, but is there any reason not to get it? More like I just feel like it and I wanna know how much frustration I will have.

i think u can download it directly from microsoft but the drivers is a big problem cuz i am using it and too many programs are not running well. I use it for maya for unlocking 64-bit features and using real alternator for music !.
at same time i can't leave my 32-bit OS i have 32-bit XP also. -
If you want an antivirus, NOD32 is one of the best, and it's 64-bit compatible I believe.
