    m1330 DVD drive does not work?

    ever since I put on Windows XP when I first got my M1330 DVD drive does not work? it plays DVDs but does not burn?...burns CD-Rs just fine....can anybody help please?

    Well since we don't know what brand or media type your using and which software at this point I would say uninstall burning software and use something else change media type to say DVD R-.
    But before any of the above if your still using XP Google for ForceASPI download and install reboot needed and try and burn a DVD..

    If it's the matash ita drive, it's more than likely a failure of the drive rather than any blame on windows xp. My drive can read retail DVD's, but can't burn nor can it read dvd-r's, etc. I've came across countless stories with this brand prone to failure. If you're really feeling brave, back up an image of your xp hard drive, reinstall the vista o.s and see if you still can't do what you're trying to do. Either that or create another partition and dual boot with vista.
