I have an out of warranty XPS 1330 and recently I have been having some issues with it. It started about a week ago I would play a game or watch a movie and the screen would all of a sudden freeze and show vertical lines. After immediately restarting I would get a white screen. Once I let it cool down the computer would work like normal UNTIL I tried to play a game (Counterstrike Source) or do anything graphics heavy. I received this error once:

Now all it does now is turn white with vertical lines when I turn the computer on

My laptop has the Nvidia GPU. I THINK it is an issue with that, but didn't know for sure. Any suggestions, comments, advice would be appreciated.
