I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the heatsink on my m1330. It seems like the fan never turns off of full and the palm resets are always pretty warm (although it is summer and I don't use my AC).

I idle around 54C on both cores of my t8300. Is this normal or should I replace the thermal pad/paste?

I've been noticing this too (see my thread a few down)... still trying to figure it out. Have you had your mobo replaced at all?

Nope, never. My video card is fine (8400) and i'm out of warranty. I'm more so concerned about the warm palm rests and any damage the temp may be doing to my cpu. The fan noise doesn't bother me (as I think it's pretty quiet, especially for a laptop this small and light).

Have you tried i8kfangui (a program to control the fan)? Apparently it works with some m1330s.

So does that mean my temp is high? I don't even know what kind of temperature to expect, so I don't know if I should be concerned.

    54C is alright for a 13" notebook.

I have a M1330, my cpu idles at around 40 C. Do you allready tried cleaning the fan? Blow all that dust out.
