Ok, well there have been a bunch of fan problem threads... so im going to compile all the fixes:
Video Drivers:
Try the laptop video 2 go drivers, and try many if one does not work
Check temps using HWmoniter:
If your gpu is over a specified temp (i think 70c) the fan turns on!
Clean the fan:
If your fan is dirty, or your heat sink is not set right o something, then it would cause the fan to be on more, because the temps are higher.
Fan revving?
For me (at least) If i downgrade to anything other than a12 or a13, it revs... if it is a12 or a13, it doesn't
And then this is a problem of mine / possibility if your fan is always on, even when idling...
Is it your fan?!
i (one day after a clean install, and a few other issues) had my fan on all the time... i kept trying all the stuff above, to no avail...
Turns out... its my HDD spinning... it goes in the BIOS, Linux live discs, everything... it sounds like the fan A LOT...
So... there you have it... common fan problem fixes...
and if any one has any info or fixes for the HD always spinning... let me know! (and i tried having windows turn off the HD after inactivity, it doesn't turn off, iv tried diff bios's and reinstalls)
Thanks and good luck!
