    m1330 is brighter on battery

    The maximum brightness I can obtain is higher on battery than it is on AC power, the opposite of how it should behave. This is using the FN up/down keys.

    I still have 8 steps of brightness, it is just that the range is lower on AC power. Or in another words when on AC power I can go darker than on battery.

    It used to be ok but something has obviously gone strangely wrong. How can I fix it ?

    . restart notebook and enter BIOS (F2 I think. Or was it F12?)
    . go to video settings and adjust the maximum brightness level for both AC and DC operation to max.

    In BIOS the battery was higher than the AC setting. I thought that was just a start level, didn't realise it affected the range as well.

    yep it limits the max setting it can go up to
