    Hi,
I've already gotten my motherboard exchanged several times yet I still keep on getting the same problems.
For one, I've been told by several people (one of them even has the same PC) that my speakers are extremely tinny.
Secondly, my laptop gets extremely hot! I just browse and perhaps watch a divx movie and the bottom left part of the lappy gets extremely hot!
I thought it was an issue with the heatpad/heatsink or something so I called dell and they exchanged the motherboard.
I formatted several times and I don't recall having this issue when I had this laptop in the beginning.
I also don't know if this is linked with the second issue but my PC is EXTREMELY slow once I have a divx movie running while browsing and perhaps opening a .pdf. The entire system basically just stutters until I manage to ctrl alt delete.

Since I'm still covered until May I'd like to get these 2 issues resolved asap.
Can anybody give me any tips besides going through with the copper mod? I didn't have this problem in the beginning and I dont think it's (the mod) necessary if I can get it fixed by exchanging the parts through dell.

    Thanks

The bottom left of the laptop houses the hard drive, so that may be one source of your heat issues. But hard drives don't usually get very hot. Can you download a program like CPUID Hardware Monitor and post a screenshot of your temperatures?

I've been running i8kfan and cpuid and the temps are in the safe zone although they do incrementally increase and it's usually the CPU load spikes that are causing the stuttering.
I'll give you some concrete figures asap though.

So, after some idling and some light browsing, the CPU is at around 51* and the GPU, as I expected at around 76*C right now.
I'm thinking about ordering some arctic silver and some thermal pads and just replacing everything. Would that make sense or would it be better for me to just call Dell and ask them to replace the heatsink?

If they fixed your computer more than 3 times then you can request an replacement. I see you have the 8400M GS card, this card is defective and sooner or later it will fail again, this will be very unpleasand if it will happen after your notebook will be out of warranty.

Yeah, I know but I dontt mind them replacing the parts since I am still under warranty and is usually fixed within a day. I guess I would extend my warranty then but I would like to make my laptop somewhat more usable. I called them and theyre going to exchange the CPU as well as the mainboard this time (they already swapped the heatsink the last time.
I dont really want to request a replacement (you meant a different model right? because the innards of my m1330 are basically new lol) since dell doesn't offer any comparable 13inch lappies anymore.
