Looking for a keyboard cover to protect the screen from the keys when the laptop is closed. I've searched the forum for this and came across stuff like Shaggymac etc, but none of them seem to be easily obtainable in the UK. Any recommendations?

Thin cloth, old handkerchief..... Even a sheet of paper.

Well, my interest in using something dedicated for the job comes from the fact that I used the plastic material that came with the laptop (that goes between the screen and keyboard when packing)... and it began to leave marks on the screen caused by the material itself! (which thankfully came off) Those suggestions are worth a go however.

I`m not sure if this will help but here it is, I work in a hospital and frequently get new monitors. They come with a thin layer of foam. This stuff is a little thicker than a sheet of paper. It`s like a sheet of thin styrofoam. I use it on 3 laptops in my house. I get it for free and it seems to do the job. Not fancy but it gives the screen a little extra protection. It`s basically a packing agent. Check with places that sell packing supplies.

Just read this post, the stuff I use hasent caused any scratches and is used to ship very expensive monitors. Hope you can find a sheet.

That's what I've been using and so far it's left no marks.
Has anyone else had it leave marks?
I can't think why it would unless it got dirty.
Or does it start to deteriorate with age or heat?

Almost everyone suggests microfiber cloths and they are available almost everywhere. Bought a 3-pack at WalMart the other day for $5. 14"x14" so not the perfect size, but plenty good.

If they don't have them at your local general store, try an automotive shop.
