Batt's have a 1 year warranty, you are probably out of yours, although you may try your luck and you could say you started noticing problems in December or something like that.

It says it in the warranty and on that page with the agreement prior to purchase. All batteries come with a 1 year warranty no matter on your extended warranty. It is due to the nature of the product having a limited life span on the number of charges and recharges it can withstand.

Tomorow, call Customer Care, and tell them that your 9 cell primary battery wont hold a charge, and you have done everything *test* wise to see what the problem could be..Advise the battery is dead, and shouldn't be like that after only being a year old.
Let them know how much you like your 1530, also..and that you are a loyal Dell customer. Ask them what they can do to help you out as a one time courtesy & see if they will please ship you a new one.
If they do ship you a new one, it will be overnighted ~ and you will need to return your current one!
If they are unwilling to help you, ask for a case number, and to be transferred to a Resolution Specialist..and see what they can do to help you out. Usually, they are fairly helpful.
If that doesn't work go this route: Tech Support or Customer Support Unresolved Issues: https://support.dell.com/support/to...nding_issues?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&redirect=1
Good luck!
