    hi,

I installed the M$ hotfix KB934428 to allow the XPS ricoh card reader to read SDHC memory cards larger than 4gb in XP.

Although it does allow large cards to be accessed in explorer it has the weird side effect of preventing 'Disk Management' in computer managment console from treating the SD cards as disks (they dont appear there).

I have experinceD the same result on two PC's running XP.

*longshot* does anyone know how this might be worked around as this prevents formatting, encrypting, and manually changing SD card drive letters?

oh and anyone know how to change that annoying SD card icon that comes with this setup?

massive thanks to anyone spending any time on this!

    *edit!!!!!!

    found drivers\solution here antifart.com/2007/12/31/dell-vostro-1000-sdhc-driver.html

    wow that took some searching..
