I reinstalled vista and drivers and recently noticed that i have no bluetooth.

I tried to install the driver from the dell site (correct version) and when it starts it asks to activate bluetooth.

The wireless works fine and is on all the time, and i can't find bluetooth listed in device manager.

Any help would be appreciated, thx!

Did you try what the message said to do?

You won't see bluetooth in device manager until it is enabled.

Start > Control Panel > Bluetooth Devices. There should be a check box to allow you turn turn the Bluetooth adapter on or off.

I had exactly the same problem. I installed the patch as said by Blazom.
the problem is solved but now i no more get the option to turn off the Bluetooth adapter, neither from the taskbar icon nor from the Bluetooth devices dialog box.

Did you go the 'Windows Mobility' and activate it from there? On some laptops, the bluetooth option doesn't show up.

Try to turn on Bluetooth service and Bluetooth support service,, then manualy start *.*exe files in folder /program files/widcomm/bluetooth software

after that go to control panel and run Bluetooth devices...

when I did this I had there option to Turn Off B.device...

download the 'patch' that blazom had on page 1 of this thread...

install the current 'FN-F2_problem" BT driver that you have..

when you get to the FN-F2 part, open the 'patch'... the setup will continue.

if it doesn't work, when you are booting in BIOS, press F2 to get into the setup, and setup the wireless switch to enable both BT and WiFi... set the wifi switch to ON when installing (you will see the WiFi LED incdicator on, but no BT LED because the drivers aren't installd yet)

//had this problem when trying to install bluetooth on my m1330 on windows x64....patch works
