So my m1530 doesn't recognize when the lid is closed. For example, if windows is set to sleep when the lid is closed it doesnt go to sleep it just stays on. I want to know what part of the hardware is responsible for this, a sensor or pin connection, what is it? I recently removed the lid and put it back on and I am sure I missed something simple, but I have no idea what it is. Thanks.

Its a magnetic lid switch. You probably forgot to reconnect the sensor in the palmrest

Do you happen to know which sensor or what it looks like? Is it in this picture? Its not easy getting the front front panel plastic off, but Ill go in again if I know what Im looking for. Thanks.

Edit: Now that I look at that picture myself, I dont remember reconnecting the "suspend switch" palm rest connector. Thats exactly what you suggested. I am going to go check it, hope I missed it. If thats it then you really zeroed in on my target!

So I opened the thing up and I had missed the very connector you mentioned. Put it in, slapped the thing back together, and all is well. Thanks for the tip.
