I have a dell m1530 laptop which just yesterday had a motherboard replaced for the 2nd time by a dell tech because it wasn't charging anymore and the adapter was unrecognized (common problem in this model). After the tech replaced the mobo we noticed that it would charge for 2 seconds, stop for 20-30 seconds and charge again for 2 seconds, it just kept going like this. The tech had no clue what was causing this, he's never seen this before and didn't bother calling dell because well "they're just a bunch of f***ing idiots" (his words lol) and would probably just send another mobo.
He said it might be the battery, but wasn't so sure about it.. so anyway long story short I was left with this problem and not sure what to do, the laptop takes hours to charge.

I hope that Dell are continuing to look in to this issue for you and at the very least will be replacing the faulty item if it can't be fixed?
You've got a warranty, they can't just say they're idiots and leave it at that. You've paid your money, go get your working laptop! -
