so i'm about to be on my 3rd mobo. first one lasted 2 years then i got it replaced 4months ago (stopped charging batt) now my 2nd one just died yesterday (wont power on anymore). has anyone else experienced happenings like this?

luckily i have the 4yr warranty. they are sending out a tech to replace parts. but i thought about it and id rather just do the equipment exchange now bc i'm tired of the band aid fixes. dell support is saying they cant cancel the tech bc its already been dispatched and they can now only do the equip exchange if the tech doesnt fix the issue. i'm about to deploy and dont want this thing to break on me in another 4 mos and i wont even be in this country to get it fixed. dell support wont stop reading off their scripts and wont budge on the matter. does anyone have any tips on ways to get through to these people?

From what I've read on this forum, call them (persistantly- as you will be transferred a lot), ask for a supervisor, be nice and request a replacement of similar (or better) spec, just not the same notebook. I'm not sure if you need to be on your fourth motherboard before they consider but if you can't win I would advise you to reapply your thermal paste as I doubt the technician applied any to the CPU/GPU after removing the old heatsink...
