Same problem to me. Some help would be nice.

get the latest drivers from here:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/
Also, the name of the device driver listed in the bluescreen would be useful. If it's nv4____.sys or something along those lines, it's a video driver issue. -
I love how shady it is getting drivers to work with the M1530... It's like there's a black market for them.
I wish dell would just suck it up and provide better driver support (for both Vista and XP) for the M1530.
You think getting those drivers to work is fun, wait until you try to play blu-ray discs.
It's quite ridiculous, I tell you. Dell's support is pure crap in this arena. -
Hm, in the blue screen, no such reason like video card driver conflict is mentioned:

Maybe anyone would know what that line means. -
Is there anyone who has found a solution for this yet?

If what he says is true, it's appalling.
And it's no wonder it's so hard to find drivers that work well for everything. -
Has there been any resolution to this?
I have a friend looking for a new laptop. She's a rather avid photographer (nothing fancy...just large volumes of vacation/travel photos) that she likes to share.
Was wondering how easy it would be to connect an M1530 to an HDTV using the HDMI cable. Is it as simple as plug and play? Or are there drivers/adjustments that need to be made?
I recommended a MBP (of course) but she's a bit apprehensive about switching OS. -
It's as simple as plug and play. Plug in the HDMI and press Fn + F8
Then, to get sound, right click on the sound icon in the system tray, click playback devices and set HDMI to default for playback. This will make all your sound come through your TV, I think mostly for apps that you open AFTER you set the sound to default. Most apps that were previously opened will still play through your computer speakers.
The only problem I've experienced with this is that some HDTVs will not accept high computer resolutions thru HDMI. It is strange because I've seen more expensive and newer ones that don't accept this while I've seen older, less expensive ones that do. I suppose she could check her TV's manual to see if it accepts this. Otherwise you have to go through VGA.
When they do accept high resolutions through HDMI, though, it is damn gorgeous and with sound through the same cable the HDMI is unrivaled by any other port/cable type in computing. -
What were the posts above referencing then? Have those been fixed with an update of some sort?
-
This is the first I've heard of those issues. I have experienced nothing of the sort. I guess if there has been no post here then there has not been a solution to the problem that a few people are having, but from what I've read this is not common.

my xps m1530 supports both s-video and hdmi. Sony HDTV supports DVI and also s-video. which way is better to go and what cable should i get for this connection and from where? Any help is very much appreciated.

paper_wastage Beat this 7x7x7 Cube
get a hdmi->dvi cable (monoprice.com is your cheapest way to get such a cable)
or a hdmi(female)->dvi(male) with a hdmi->hdmi cable... i have a mix of hdmi and dvi ports on my TV/Laptop/Computer, but im trying to convert everytihnt to hdmi(since hdmi has sound)...
and now displayport and mini-displayports are more common.... sigh... more cables -
Thanks for the info on the cable to get and where to get it.
