    hello,
i have yet another problem with my m1530.
when watching movies on the dvd/bluray player it will crash the playing program (vlc, powerdvd ect.) and the drive (E :) will not show up in "my computer", its just gone. if i try to open the program back up it says there is no drive E: and if i hit eject the whole pc just freezes. no more mouse movements nothing. have to hard reset, then it will work again, and even play the part it crashed on just fine.
i have tried a handful of dvds (backups and real).
    please help.

Have you tried doing a factory restore of your Operating System and Software?

yeah, it does sound like what a dell rep would say, but it really sounds like a software/OS issue to me. hopefully you have a backup. :)

unless you have endless time and resources at your disposal, it's the quickest way to figure out if it's a hardware or software issue.

and i promise i don't work for dell.
