I am thinking of just getting a nut and bolt to try to fix this problem, anyone have any ideas for a quick fix? Attached is a picture
btw: I tried superglue to glue the screw hole back on and let it dry overnight before putting the heatsink on. I put the heatsink back on turn on my computer, and watch the gpu temps while playing some modern warefare 2, turn it back off and find that the superglue melted...

any thoughts? should I just find a nut+bolt at home depot? -
You can use some high temperature resistant glues. Im sure you can get these at your local hardware store. What temperatures were you getting for the screw to melt?!

it's not the screw itself that melted, it is the screw hole that melted off the mobo, it pops right off when i try to tighten the screw for the gpu heatsink. today, my laptop now starts booting up with vertical lines (weirdly enough those lines don't show when the OS is loaded)... I think my gpu finally failed and now it's working solely off of software acceleration, so to fix all of this (including the screw hole) I am going to buy a new motherboard.

yep i was right, modern warfare won't open "Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on."
