This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    m1530 wireless upgrade

    I can confirm that the Intel WiFi Link 5300 works perfectly with my Studio 1535, which uses the same chipset as the M1530 (PM965, Santa Rosa platform).

    I originally had the Dell 1397 wireless half-size mini card, which used two antennae (black and white). I did have the third (grey) antenna, though nothing was plugged into it.

    I recieved my 5300 half-height mini card last week, and it uses all three antennae. I installed the Vista 64-bit driver for it from Dell's download page, and it's been working perfectly ever since. I don't have a Wireless-N router to test the dual-band capability, but on my current G router, it's been performing very well.
