if you're using laptopvideo2go drivers, then I'm 100% sure you need different drivers. More recent or less recent, it doesn't matter; just change.

Make sure you go into Safe Mode + Driver Sweeper before you attempt a new driver.

Call Dell. This should be covered by the warranty. It could be a software problem, but could also be related to the touchpad shorting out.

Same problem here (Win XP Pro, when I switch on after hibernate, the screen goes black just after the Resuming progress bar reaches 100%)

Did anyone managed to solve the problem?

    Thanks

I solved the problem by updating the drivers. The new ones from laptopvideo2go work fine. The drivers posted in the xp thread for m1530 seem to cause this problem
