q1: is Dell ever going to offer the dual 9800M GTX (SLI) on the m1730 platform ?

q2: has anyone sucessfully popped 2 4GB chips in this machine and had it all 8GB available under a 64-bit OS ?

    1. Only if Dell is able to undervolt the GPU to reduce its TDP, or makes an outstanding cooling system.
But it'll be available for the successor of the M1730.
The M1730's BIOS won't support the NB9E due to heat issues.
The GPU's will have a proprietary form-factor. (Will fit only a specific notebook)
