    Hey NBR :)

I recently sold my HP hdx 9450 wich had a 8800m gts and a 2.26ghz cpu. Now i'm going deeper into the laptop gaming market, so I have a few questions regarding the m1730:

It's been a while now since Dell released the m1730, isn't it abit outdated on the gpu?(8800gtx sli) I mean, how is it compared to the Sager NP5797 which has a single 9800gtx, ddr3 ram and a p9500 cpu?
Here in Denmark i'm not able to purchase the sager notebooks but a company named Zepto sells the hydra which looks like the Sager NP5797.

The Zepto will cost me around 2438 USD:
    17" WUXGA (1920x1200)
    NVIDIA® Geforce 9800M GTX 1GB
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo-processor P9500
    4096MB DDR3 1066MHz PC8500
    500GB SATA Hdd 5400rpm OR 7200rpm 250 disk
    DVD-RW/CD-RW SATA
    Zepto Zpro2 Wireless 300Mbit

The m1730 will cost me around 3405 USD:
    17" WUXGA
    8800m GTX SLI
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo-processor T8300 2.4ghz
    4gb ddr2 ram
    2x160 7200rpm hdd's

Which is the better buy? The laptop will be used for gaming ofcause, like CoD4 and 5, Farcry 2 and Warhammer online.. And have to last for 2-3 years(if possible). I'd get a little sad if Dell upgraded their graphics to 9800 series now if I purchased it, you know?
    What do You think? :D
    Thanks in advance!
-Oh and by the way. The Zepto has dropped in price(for a limited moment) from 3832 usd to 2438 usd
#Sorry if posted in the wrong categori* Yes.. It was the wrong category. Sorry, i'm new to this forum :)

I'd go with the sager, simply for better longevity, you've got the newer processor architecture along with better RAM. I believe the 8800GTX SLI outperforms a single 9800GTX but based on the other differences I'd give Sager the nod.

#2 and #3 Are you completely sure? I want the best for the money ! :)
I like the design of the m1730, backlit keyboard and the 'g15' screen etc. but it's also pricey tho..
Well, if the Zepto is more future proof, then it might be that one to get.
Btw.. It'll be used on my lab all the time! I don't have a desk atm :) Still the Zepto/ sager to get?

Well the Zepto is nore more future proof if you like at the GPU alone, 8800m GTX SLI outperforms the 9800m GTX. 9800m GTX is not a lot faster at all compared to a single 8800m GTX.

    I had a 5791 and now I have a XPS1730.
If that`s any indication, they`re both amazing, but the XPS has more 'bling' to it. And it`s MUCH MORE SILENT ...
The 5797 will give you headaches with its noisy cooling system. Not to mention the XPS is faster...

#5 and #6 Thanks for your comments! I see that you both have a m1730 with a 2.4ghz cpu. Do you think that its enough? or should I go with the 2.5 ghz 6mb?
Well.. I think that I will end up with the dell, but i'm gonna wait a little more since dell just released a new bios for m1730 with support for a new graphics card :)
#6 Specially your comment was exactly the answer i was looking for. Also the m1730 seems more powerfull, lol :D

If you can go with the 2.5GHz CPU, the higher the better. Thought the 2.4 is enough for my needs.
