media direct update annoyance

everytime I try to play anything in media direct, whether it is a dvd or a blu ray I get a message for updates however there is never one available. well I bought the new clone wars blu ray today and the same message pops up accept now I cannot play the movie it just keeps popping up this message but then there is no update. I have a internet connection avilable so it isn't a connection issue. I cannot find any update, when ever I have needed one for say my ps3 it automatically connects to the internet and finds it, why can't my laptop do this. I have a xps m 1530 with vista premium.

I don't use MD however to help out I fired it up and clicked on update. This took me to a Cyberlink file who I presume write the MD software for dell.
I downloaded this file to the desktop and double clicked it to install. That's it!

If you can't do this then I can only think that you have a connection problem.
I am running Vista Home Premium not Ultimate if that makes a difference?

PS. If you PM me your email addy I can send you the update, at least you will be able to play your Blurays, but it doesn't entirely solve your problem with updates.

PPS. Just had a thought, is your browser or firewall blocking the relevant site?
I am using Firefox.
