I checked online to upgrade my 1 GB xps m1330 to 2 GB and I see that there are a lot of types of companies. On eBay I can even get a 4 GB for less then $100.
So I wonder which company is good. And what is the difference between pc2 6400 and pc2 5400? Also DDR2 667 and DDR2 800?
Example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820141339
Thanks

DDR2-800 is not supported by mobile Intel processors. Don't bother with it.
Just read the RAM Deals thread, as all the deals you'll probably be interested in are there. -
And if you can get 4Gb less than 100..GRAB IT!!!

I have asked this before but got no real list. What ram works with the 1330 as I have heard that it can be fussy. I know the Corsair value select will work (according to their memory configurator) as well as Buffalo's certified ram. However, Ocz does not have anything for this machine on their website so has anyone had luck with Ocz? What about Mushkin and Crucial (both of which have expensive, company specific ram); do their "ordinary" ram work with this machine? What about Kingston? I think I have the major brands covered! Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Yasmine

Hi, thanks
. Now I need to know exactly which Mushkin, Crucial and Kingston ram will work for this laptop; any of them or just their Dell specific ones? And has anyone had any luck with Ocz? Much appreciated, Yasmine

There really isn't any difference in the brands. Just make sure you get the right type of RAM, in my post above.

I recommend G.skill, newegg has 4GB for 89 shipped!!

If you look in the Deals section you can get 4GB for less than $50.
